The Wild America series encompasses years of documentation and solitary exploration; a journey into the American West preserved painstakingly on dark glass plates. Impressive in scale and detail, each photograph is marked by unique artifact and subtle imperfection–gifts of the makeshift dark rooms Overton constructs deep within the landscape. Overton’s process hinges on many hours and the manipulation of temperamental chemistry, rendering the replication of any single plate impossible.
